Domestic Violence Training Series
Hale Santuwaryo’s Training Series is a culturally grounded educational program that equips healthcare professionals, advocates, and community partners to recognize, respond to, and prevent intimate partner and domestic violence in Hawaiʻi, with attention to the needs of Filipinx communities.
Rooted in trauma-informed, survivor-centered care and aligned with national best practices, the series offers practical skills for real-world clinical and community settings. This initiative is conducted in partnership with the Domestic Violence Action Center, strengthening the clinical, legal, and community relevance of each training.
Continuing Medical Education
Select offerings within the Hale Santuwaryo Training Series are accredited for Continuing Medical Education (CME) through the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), supporting clinicians in meeting professional learning requirements while advancing culturally responsive, survivor-centered care.
Accreditation status and credit details will be listed with each individual training announcement.
Purpose of the Series
The Training Series aims to:
Improve early identification of violence and abuse
Strengthen culturally responsive clinical and community interventions
Build coordinated referral pathways across Hawaiʻi
Support healing, safety, and long-term prevention
Each offering is intentionally designed to foster reflection, discussion, and real-world application rather than passive learning alone.
